Learn languages through interactive stories

Wordsmith takes a different approach to language learning: reading beautiful stories. Unlike apps that rely on repetition and points, Wordsmith generates stories tailored to your exact proficiency level (CEFR A1-C2). Read in your target language, answer comprehension questions, and receive detailed educational feedback that teaches grammar patterns, vocabulary and spelling naturally.

Chris Zevenbergen
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Chris, and I'm excited to share Wordsmith with you today. I built this because I wanted a way to practice reading in my target language while actually learning interesting things at the same time. The idea is simple: read a short story, answer some questions about it, and get detailed feedback on your answers. What I like about this approach is that each session is completely isolated and takes just a few minutes. You can do it anywhere, anytime. You're practicing both understanding what you read and expressing yourself by typing out your answers. So you're learning to comprehend and to communicate, and you get instant feedback that helps you develop your grammar and vocabulary naturally. The stories are generated by AI and matched to your proficiency level using the CEFR scale, from complete beginner to advanced. I support 13 languages right now. If you get stuck on a paragraph, you can click to see a translation. The feedback you get isn't just right or wrong, but it breaks down what you did well and where you can improve, with grammar explanations and examples. There's a free tier that gives you 10 stories a day. Premium is $5.99/month if you want more stories and additional options. For this launch, you can create an account with the code PRODUCTHUNT for premium access. This is my first public launch and I built it solo. I'd really love to hear what you think, especially if you're learning a language yourself. Try it at wordsmith-stories.com
