Whisper Read

For people who lose their place while reading ebooks

Reading on screens is strangely harder than reading on paper. Your eyes jump lines. You reread the same sentence. The flow breaks. This app adds a subtle visual pacer that guides your eyes line by line while you read PDFs and ebooks on your laptop. It’s quiet, non-distracting, and designed to help you stay in the reading flow without thinking about it. No speed reading. No flashy UI. Just a simple guide that keeps you from losing your place so you can focus on understanding what you read.

Hey everyone 👋 This idea came from a very personal frustration. I read a lot of PDFs and ebooks on my laptop, and I noticed something strange. I kept losing my place. My eyes would jump lines, I’d reread the same sentence, and the reading flow kept breaking. This never happened when I read physical books. At first, I thought it was just me. But after speaking to others, I realized many people face the same issue while reading on screens. So instead of building another reader, I focused on the actual problem: how our eyes move while reading digitally. The approach was simple. Add a subtle visual pacer that gently guides the eyes line by line. Nothing flashy. Nothing distracting. Just a small guide that helps you stay in flow and reduces rereading. This is especially helpful for students, researchers, and anyone who struggles to maintain focus during long reading sessions. I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and experiences. Does this problem happen to you too?
