👋 Hey everyone, I’m the maker of WebSafely.
The idea started when friends & family kept asking me to “just check if this site is safe before ordering.” I realized scams are everywhere and most people don’t know what signals to look for.
With WebSafely, I wanted to build something that can predict if a website is scam or legit with higher accuracy than what current solution offers but also that is easy to use. Websafely has following features:
A Scam Score (BETA) using 40+ trust signals calculated by Machine learning model trained on thousands of scam/legit website database.
Quick stats like Domain Age, Whois, Popularity, Threat Level, IP Country, etc
A Chrome extension that shows Scam Score along with stats right in the browser for user convenience.
Allow users to submit reviews of website to alert others.
I know no system can ever catch 100% of scams, but if this can help people avoid even a few of them, that’s a win. 🙌
