A big hello to the Product Hunt community! 👋 This is our first launch on Product Hunt! The problem we wanted to work on was freelancer mental health in the pandemic. We sent out a survey and got 50 responses in less than a day. We found that the overwhelming top two issues impacting our group was social isolation and lack of productivity. We left open an option for people who weren't freelancers to answer and almost half our responses were from non-freelancers - but the results were the same. Social isolation and lack of productivity were still the top issues. Here are some of the responses when asked what might help: - Better tools to support community and interaction/dialogue - Something that will help me find my community with whom I can be vulnerable with - Accountability check ins So we decided to create something that would help with both social isolation and productivity. We focused on virtual coworking. What currently exists is usually silent and often 1-1 and scheduled. As remote workers, we wanted something that we could drop into at anytime with options to actually talk to other people as well. Sometimes we wanted to get work done and sometimes we just wanted company and sometimes we just wanted talk with someone who got where we were coming from. We're starting off with a silent coworking room, one with lofi music and a room for supportive chats and plan to add more as we learn about what our community wants and needs. There's a lot more that we want to include and improve! Because we're all based across the world (India, UK + Australia), we used Watercoolr to support us building the app and it was really, really nice not to be doing our work alone as a distributed team. Having worked as a solo founder, as well as being part of remote working teams the journey always felt lonely. It made me realise even if people are not a part of your organisation or startup the need to socialise helps immensely. Back then there was no such platform or forum to help me overcome this feeling. But when my fellows at the Global Build Weekend were matched, this seemed like the most obvious problem to solve. As our research also helped us understand that social isolation is an unaddressed issue for solopreuners, freelancers, consultants. Our hope and aim with this product is to be a small part of your vast journey <3

Congrats on the launch, y'all! Recreating that magic of collaborating and getting to know someone live has been such a struggle, especially in today's world. So glad to see a product helping to address isolation, especially for remote workers! Congrats on the launch, can't wait to try this 🎉
