Thanks @sylvinus for this great experiment! Wikipedia is a great resource, matching that with a 3D preview adds an awesome extra layer of information. Nice proof of concept. An alternative solution could be to write a Chrome extension that does the same on the real Wikipedia.

@steren Good idea! I think @sylvinus wanted to do an extension letting you "Sketchfabify" any website.
Great mirror site! When I clicked on Volupedia I was eager to check out my first augmented wikipedia entry. How do you plan to help visitors know which entries have 3D embeds aside the “Random” link at the top?

@macsym Good question Max, I should probably have hunted a page going directly to a live example. Our plan is mostly to have an embed for each entry, so that we don't need to help users find them anymore :)
