Hello, and thank you for checking out VoiceNews. Last year, our resident ninja and voice tech expert @alexandre_nicol3 was contacted by a blind person who couldn’t access the local news in her community, and wanted an Alexa flash briefing that would let her listen to news from her town’s news sites. While making this, he realised that there was an opportunity to help any news site who want to make their content accessible to people with impaired vision. We made VoiceNews as a way for local news sites to make their content available as a flash briefing on Alexa-enabled smart devices, with no code or integrations required. And because flash briefings are easily accessible through a simple voice command, it helps blind and partially sighted people who could otherwise struggle to access news in their community. Our philosophy was to make it as simple as possible for news sites to adopt, so there’s no need to configure anything or manage a separate CMS. VoiceNews automatically synchronises articles with Alexa throughout the day, meaning audiences can always keep up-to-date. Thanks for reading. We would love to hear your comments, feedback and suggestions!
