Self-serve factory production monitoring

Verkantum is a self serve production monitoring tool for brownfield factories. It lets teams connect machines themselves, change views without consultants, and see production as a live process map; more like Google Maps for the factory floor than static dashboards. The prototype uses natural language to help with setup and runs as a lightweight Rust and Dioxus app. This launch is about sharing the approach and learning from people who work close to production.

Verkantum explores why production monitoring remains hard to adopt in mid sized brownfield factories and what it would take to create a self-serve system.

We’re in an early discovery phase; exploring the blockers like old machines, rigid dashboards, ownership, and loss of control. A small prototype is live (https://verkantum.com), showing LLM based setup/change and a canvas view of the factory process.

it seems mid sized brownfield factories don’t skip monitoring because it isn’t useful; they skip it because most tools are costly to adapt, too rigid for high mix production and make teams dependent on vendors. Excel survives because people can change views, logic and machines themselves as reality shifts.

When production monitoring tools fail to stick in mid sized brownfield factories, what usually breaks first; connecting old machines, adapting views to daily reality, inflexibility?
