Congratulations on the launch! I love this site! My concern is now, how do i quickly access? Will there be an app for this? Because i want to update real quick-to-go kind of thing if i'm nomading/travelling. I also enjoyed you building this site. I love it!!!!!!
@fajarsiddiq Thank you Fajar! Yes! Adding offline-support (native app) would be amazing! It is on my todo-list and I can't wait to start working on it! Thanks for all the feedback through out the journey π

@tomaswoksepp This is the future, i can't wait for APP & BOT
@fajarsiddiq I think building an app is an excellent idea. Many people track on the go and it would helpful for when you have no internet, since obviously you're traveling.
Hi Product Hunters! π I'm Tomas, the creator of Venture Cost.
This project began early 2018 when I started traveling. To keep my travel budget on track, I logged all my expenses in a Google Sheet document. After tracking expenses for so many weeks, it was getting more and more overwhelming to add onto the list.
Before I started my travels in southeast Asia, I wanted to figure out how much it would cost to live in certain cities. I found a lot of bloggers and Youtubers stating their totals, but I found it hard to relate to the numbers because I couldn't see the separate expenses.
That's when I decided to create Venture Cost. Partly to help people easily track their expenses while traveling, but also to assist people who wants to start traveling by showing how much it costs, in detail π
Nice to see more travel apps launch, love the interface!
What's the roadmap and next features planned? Would be nice to connect to online banking (like Revolut) to auto track expenses and match it with cities, then feed that back into your cost DB.
@levelsio Thank you Pieter, I really appreciate it!
The upcoming features I have in mind are:
* Ability to upload photos/videos from a trip. This will make it easier for the users browsing to see exactly what an apartment for $500 might give you, etc.
* Offline capability by syncing expenses from a phone app.
* Automatically add expenses from online banking (haven't looked into details yet)
Other than that, it's just newsletters, memberships, interviews, blog...

I like the idea. Have you explored the idea of automatically pulling in credit card charges so that users don't have to add expenses manually? That's one of my biggest complaints with expense tracking/splitting services (splitwise to be specific).
@golear Hi Gabe! Yup, I'm aware and I have had a lot of people asking for it. The problem is that it's near impossible determining where the expense is from, and what was actually purchased. I wish it was easy to add it, as it would be more than awesome having that functionality. It's on my todo-list, but I'll prioritize it pretty late to be honest

@tomaswoksepp I'm not suggesting auto categorization, you're right that is hard. Pull the price data in and let me chose which ones to use by adding the extra details you're looking for. You could have an inbox of expenses and select which ones to add.
Finally!
Tomas is one of the most determined makers out in the scene today. He's worked so hard on Venture Cost and it's so amazing to finally see it pay off.
I can't believe this is happening!!
