What do you think? …

David Klein

Hello ProductHunters 🚀

I am a solopreneur (if that is a word) from Munich, and I am super pumped and excited to launch Vatfy here! Also very nervous of what you guys think of my niche product and this being my very first "launch" I have no clue on what to expect.

I created Vatfy because I did not find a simple and cheap alternative to making my invoices tax compliant. Yes, there are other solutions out there that either claim to do VAT validations, but most just do this initially 📉. This kind of sucks if you are invoicing on a monthly basis, or these solutions are insanely 💵 expensive (at least for my gusto).

So I created Vatfy to validate EU VAT ID numbers, calculate prices for B2B and B2C customers based on their location and help me figure out if you want to invoice net or gross pricing (with and without VAT percentages), be able to look up up-to-date VAT rates as well as have a place to store all my validation evidence in case the local tax authority ever wants to do an audit.

If you have a question or want to share your feedback about Vatfy, the design, anything really, I would be super happy to discuss.

Oh, Vatfy is free to use for up to 100 validations per month. So go ahead and give it a spin if you like.

EDIT: This project no longer exists and the domain has been released a long time ago.

Out of sincere curiosity: how do you compare to vatlayer.com?
David Klein
@linusgeffarth Hi Linus, thanks for asking. I haven't used them, so I can't compare. What Vatfy does - on top of validations, price calculations and VAT rates - is to store the validation evidence identifier as well as offering a manual check interface through the dashboard (so no need to implement the API via a developer). Hope this makes sense?
