So many of the most interesting and immediate challenges we face come from, or could be solved by, the intersection of cities and technology. From what I've seen so far, John has a keen eye for spotting trends, getting important stakeholders to talk about what they're up to, asking tough questions, and finding ways to connect members of the community to each other in ways that add value for everyone in the ecosystem. I think this expansion of his offerings has the potential to have a huge impact on the space and I'm excited to see what comes next!

After working in politics and tech, I founded UrbanTech last summer because I felt something was missing from the conversation around cities and tech. To me, it seemed like there needed to be a place on the internet dedicated to how tech and cities are intersecting more by the day -- so I built Urban Tech as a substack newsletter to try and fill the gap. After 75 editions on Substack, launching a podcast, and interviewing leaders at companies like Zillow, Tusk Ventures, Waze, Flexport, and LIme, I came to realize there was room to grow what we started with a free newsletter to be something bigger -- so I decided to put my grad school education at USC on hold and go all-in on a new vision for UrbanTech. We think the intersection of cities and tech will be the center of tech's biggest happening, so we are building a community dedicated to people interested in how tech is impacting our cities more by the day. Please help us build a place on the internet dedicated to this growing sector!!
