If you've ever tried to get your website, article, app, etc translated into non-English languages, you'll know what a pain it can be. Translation agencies are expensive, slow and hard to work with. Trying to find individual translators on sites like oDesk can often leave questionable quality. Unbabel does a few smart things. First it uses machine powered translation to do the bulk of the translation. Then it's run through 3 individual editors who edit the results to fix up mistakes. You can interact via email, their web dashboard, or API. Costs $0.01 per word. Current languages: English, French, Italian, Portugese, Spanish. Note: They just offer the translations - it's your job to add I18n support to your app/site.

@joewalnes - YES, I know the pain. This is especially painful when translating integration documentation that inevitably changes a month or two later. Here's a nice interview with the founder by @kjemperud with the founder: http://blog.startupletters.com/p... I didn't know they were in the current YC batch.
