Just saw the first edition of this come out and enjoyed reading it -- Uber is a rare lightning rod of a company that taps into so many different emotions among consumers, media, investors and anyone following them. It is a company where so many people are projecting their fears (AI, privacy, changes to the way we view ownership and by extension our freedom) as well as their ambitions (the raw vision and drive, from an outsider's perspective is second to none among other private companies). For example, their Rand-ian drive to push forth at the expense of anyone in their way while creating thousands upon thousands of jobs for often marginalized people...and then their inevitable move to take those jobs away with more efficient planning and routing and eventually autonomous cars. They've ridden on the back of (and created) demographic, economic and technological changes and are obviously one of the world's most important companies so having a digest of news and commentary on the company from someone who has thought deeply about the company and the market is great.

@semil is this how you're resurrecting the book?

@ashwindeshmukh hey ashwin. not sure i'll resurrect the book, but in a process where i struggled to figure out how to write/chronicle this, when someone mentioned the Curated product and how you can just clip and comment on articles, it seems like a good way for people to read/skim on a more frequent basis. my hope is that when someone gets it, they can scan it for 30-60 seconds and feel up to date about what uber is doing worldwide.

Turning your back on Uber for a few weeks is the equivalent of ignoring changes in Google's search algorithm X infinity. Thanks @semil for pulling this together -- super helpful.
