The app I keep coming back to. (And yes, I'm this review was created WITH TypingMind)
Here's a little story for you.
I was an early TypingMind user. Loved it from the jump. The versatility? Unmatched. The way it handles context? Still the best I've seen — and I've tried pretty much everything.
Then I got seduced. You know how it goes. Claude Code. Obsidian. Fancy setups. Custom workflows. I went DEEP down that rabbit hole.
And you know what happened?
I got FRUSTRATED. Like, bang-my-head-against-the-desk frustrated.
Because here's the thing: when you're doing serious copywriting, you don't want some massive, overwrought system.
You just want to tweak a few damn words. Change a sentence. Nudge the tone. Instead, the AI would rewrite the whole paragraph and take it in some random direction.
Sound familiar?
That's where TypingMind SHINES. It gives you control. Real, actual control over the output. No fighting the model. No wrestling matches with your own setup.
And then there's the OpenRouter integration...
This is a GAME-CHANGER (a word I typically don't use but it fits)
I'm not kidding. All the models — OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek — all in ONE place. One app. One interface. No juggling five different subscriptions. No copy-pasting between windows like an animal.
I can compare models side by side. See what Claude does versus what ChatGPT does. Even using Grok or DeepSeek now from time to time. Use my custom agents. Switch on the fly.
Minimal setup. Maximum flexibility.
For anything text-based where the output actually matters — where you need it 100% right — I don't want to be messing around in Google Docs or some janky web app. I want TypingMind.
And here's the meta part: I'm literally writing this review WITH an AI assistant running inside TypingMind right now using my custom assistant with his voice, his style, his quirks...
If that's not a testament to how good this tool is, I don't know what is.
Try it. You'll see what I mean.
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
Learnetto
@tony_dinh2 congrats on the launch, Tony! Looks like TypingMind has come a long way since I last checked it out. Will give it another go.
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@hrishio thank you, Hrishi! Definitely check it out again, so many new things now!
PageAI
@tony_dinh2 TypingMind is by far the most advanced Chat UI, nothing comes close!
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@dan_mindru thank you Dan!
@tony_dinh2 Thanks for all your hard work. Typing Mind is such a great platform. I bought it a couple of years ago and it has been such a great asset. I don't even come close to using it to it's full capacity. I wish you and your team so much success. You have all worked really hard to make this the best platform and it really is the best!
🎉 Congratulations @tony_dinh2 and the whole TypingMind team on the 2026 launch!
I've been using TypingMind as my daily AI driver for over a year now, and it's honestly transformed how I work. The ability to connect any model via your own API key is genius — you're never locked into one provider, and you actually control your costs. The custom agents with system instructions, the plugin ecosystem, MCP server support, the granular per-model parameter configuration, and the way everything syncs across devices seamlessly... it's the most power-user-friendly AI interface I've come across, and I've tried a lot of tools.
The freedom to swap models mid-workflow, wire up your own tools via MCP, build custom plugins, and tune every model's behavior exactly how you want — that flexibility is genuinely rare, and it's what keeps me here.
Three things would make an already excellent experience perfect for me:
A proper native app for Android and iOS. The PWA works, but a native app would make the mobile experience feel first-class — especially for quick queries on the go.
Better handling of large chat backups. I frequently get a notification that certain chats aren't being backed up because they're "too large" — even when they're well below the documented 10MB limit. It makes cross-device continuity unreliable for long-running deep work sessions, which is exactly when you need sync the most.
A self-hosted sync option for personal accounts. I run a home server that's accessible from everywhere via VPN. I'd love to point TypingMind's sync at it instead of the cloud — full ownership, zero size limits, works perfectly with my setup. The self-host product exists but it's a full team deployment, not something a power individual user can spin up. A lightweight "sync to your own endpoint" option would be a game changer.
Fix those three things and TypingMind is genuinely untouchable. Keep up the incredible work! 🚀

@marwan_alsayedHi Marwan! Thank you for the feedback, those are absolutely genuine improvement areas that we can work on. One thing is for sure: we will definitely improve the large chat sync process. As for the other feedback, we will have it in our backlog and will get to it soon.
Thanks again for supporting our launch!
Landing AI
let's go tony !
whats the benefit for company of 5 to use your tool vs standard apps ?
do you support coding mode?
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@martin_donadieu
The most obvious benefit is to have the flexibility to switch between models and to use multiple models in parallel! :D
There is no specialized coding mode, but users can still ask the AI to write code, and TypingMind runs it in a code sandbox (provided natively by the model provider!).
Thank you for visiting our launch, Martin! ❤️
fork/parallel chat is an interesting addition
how do you handle context across branches - does each fork get the full parent context or is it trimmed?
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@nickzaleski a fork has full parent context. A parallel chat only get context from it’s own branch. There is a “Finalize” feature that will use a chosen model to read all branches and merge them into a final answer 😄
For many tasks, free models are often sufficient. In other words, some tasks need a paid subscription, while others can be handled with free models. Is there a way to combine them in your platform?
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@natalia_iankovych hi Natalia! In TypingMind you bring your API keys so it is very flexible! 😄 You can add multiple models to the app and switch between them among your chats.
The pay per use angle is what got me. We run a bunch of AI tools in our company and subscription stacking is becoming its own cost problem. Trying this with our own keys. Congrats on the launch
@jon_jonssonExactly this. At some point you're paying for four different AI subscriptions and using maybe 20% of each. Pay per use with your own keys is the only model that actually scales with how you work.
@jon_jonsson This is the real unlock. Subscription stacking quietly becomes a line item nobody owns. The open question is whether teams actually track usage per model, or just feel the bill at month end.
Warmup Inbox
How do you compare to OpenRouter?
TypingMind - Chat UI for LLMs
@fabian_maume Open Router gives you access to the models, TypingMind gives you a UI to use it 😄
You can use Open Router models on TypingMind too, it is supported natively in the app!
