Thanks Jeremiah! I created Tweetype as a fun side-project and an opportunity to learn Node.js. It came from a conversation over beers with some of my former Typekit coworkers about a silly idea that would combine old classics like Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing or Mario Teaches Typing with content from Twitter. Creating the gameplay and scoring algorithm was a bit of an iterative experiment. The result definitely skews more towards "unforgiving" than "fun and easy", but so far it seems to appeal to typing game aficionados. The concept is intentionally a bit tongue-in-cheek since tweets aren't usually the best content examples to type, but it does make for a challenge when hashtags and misspellings come up. Using skips effectively is key to keeping speed up. I tried to implement the game so that it's mostly input-type agnostic, but it's definitely the most fun on a desktop with a good keyboard. Hope people find it fun, or at least get a laugh out of it! I'd love to hear about your experiences playing, any issues you run into, and any suggestions or ideas you have.

This is a fun and useful way to test out new iOS third-party keyboards.
