Trend Filterer

Over time, Twitter has gone from being just a micro-blogging platform to a business hub for many users. People use it to acquire more customers, build an audience, and engage with their existing audience. To achieve all these, they need more visibility. One of the hacks Twitter users have adopted in a bid to increase their visibility is spamming trending hashtags. This is gradually becoming a plague as it has moved from being an innocent hack to affecting the experience of other Twitter users. As a regular Twitter user, one of my major frustrations when trying to view Twitter trends is spam tweets. Whenever I visit a trend trying to know what's happening, half the tweets are people spamming the hashtags, selling something, or posting irrelevancies. I have seen a lot of people complain about this growing plague enough times to realize it's a major concern. Therefore, I decided to solve this problem by creating a Trend Filterer (@filtertrend). The trend filter helps you filter 80-90% of spam tweets from Twitter trends. You can read trends in peace with little to no spam tweet interference. To use the Trend Filterer, mention @filtertrend with the keyword "filter" and the trend you'll like to filter (e.g. @filtertrend filter Football Twitter). I'm currently making improvements and updates to improve its accuracy. Kindly try it out and let me know what you think.
