Hey Hunters 👋 Anthony and @jacobwedderburnday here, the co-founders of Treepoints. We built Treepoints to make it easy for everyday people like us to understand our impact on the environment and then do something about it. We started Treepoints when our travel tech startup went quiet during the pandemic and we built the platform on Bubble (shoutout to anyone making no code tools for people like us!!) Here’s a little bit of info about Treepoints... 🔥 The Problem Lots of people are worried about the climate crisis, but don’t know where to start. Doubts and feelings of powerlessness as an individual are enough to put people off. 🌳 Treepoints in a nutshell Treepoints is a simple platform that revolutionises the fight against climate change for individuals and businesses. 🎁 Rewarding people for fighting climate change Today, we want to show you how everyone can make a difference, track their impact, and earn rewards. Yep you read that right - rewards! We believe that doing good for the planet deserves rewarding, which is why we built a points system for rewards. Think of it like airmiles, except we reward you for offsetting your carbon footprint, not adding to it. You can spend your points on the rewards platform with eco-friendly brands like Brewgooder beer and Patagonia clothing. 💡Features of Treepoints 🌎 Carbon calculator - Find out the size of your carbon footprint based on a few quick questions. 🌎Offset your footprint - Balance your carbon emissions with a simple and affordable monthly subscription. We reduce carbon emissions elsewhere on your behalf with verified climate projects. 🌎Support global sustainable development - We work exclusively with climate projects that not only reduce carbon emissions but also provide environmental and social benefits for communities and ecosystems around the world. All projects are independently verified, measured and monitored by internationally recognised standards. 🌎 A comprehensive planet positive impact - Every month your donation plants 3 trees and collects the equivalent of 3 plastic bottles from our coastlines as well as offsetting your entire carbon footprint. 🌎Track your progress and visualise your impact - A personal dashboard shows you your total impact to date. 🌎 Earn points and spend them on rewards from our eco-friendly partners - Referring your friends and family earns you extra points. 🌎Transparency - Check out our public ledger for records of all carbon offset and trees planted. 🙌Our Vision We launched in beta in November 2020. To date we have offset over 2539 tonnes of CO2 equivalents, planted over 28,897 trees, and collected 4705kg of ocean-bound plastic. Our goal is to offset 1 billion tonnes of carbon by 2030. For more info about how we started, the nice people at Forbes published this article about us: https://www.forbes.com/sites/ali... 🤞Over to you guys Today, we’re looking for feedback on what we’ve built - both for individuals and businesses. Any comments you have are so helpful to us improving our product and making it as easy as possible for everyone to fight climate change. Happy to answer any questions! 🌲Offer To say thank you for your support, we’ll plant a tree for every person who shares their feedback today. Thanks for hunting us @benln !

@jacobwedderburnday @benln @anthony_nicholas Great work guys, really nice work. I founded and ran a business for nearly a decade to reduce UK domestic heating consumption (even won the Ikea EarthHack award back in the day) so this is close to my heart. One thing I always want to know is a bit more detail than just "you've had XYZ impact" is there a way to see the layer of detail between a summary and a full audit? Like an "Impact Activity"?
Jamie Vaughan Johnson
@anthony_nicholas @akangudaniel Hey Daniel, appreciate the support. Also a big fan of what you've built with Eco-Catalogue! Drop me an email at jamie@treepoints.green and let's see if we can work together on something!
Georgia Crump
@simon_barker1 Hey Simon thanks for the support. This is such a good point about "Impact Activity" and definitely one in the road map. We're working on developing the internal user dashboard so that people and businesses can visualise and understand the impact that they're having. We currently share individual data (how many trees you've helped to plant) as well as the collective impact of our community. We also send round and share regular updates that quantify these numbers in other ways, for example every 100 trees planted is 1 employment day for a planter. We're hoping to develop this further so people can see exactly how their contribution is having a positive impact, without losing people in too much specificity and climate terminology.
Simon Barker
@georgia_crump Thanks for the detailed reply, really appreciated. My main reason for asking is that while there is a huge push to plant trees (which is important) not everywhere is a good place to plant them so transparency is important. As Scotland found in the 1970s when they cleared peat bogs and planted trees which had great disruptions on the local habitat and actually had a negative impact on the CO2 levels as peat is a better form of carbon capture than trees
Giuliano Ambrosio
@anthony_nicholas very strong project! Congrats.
Julia Doronina
How does it work? How can I earn points?
Georgia Crump
@julia_demyanchuk Hi Julia! Georgia from Treepoints here, great question. Every time you make a donation or refer someone to Treepoints, you earn points. An easy way to understand it is like airmiles, except instead of harming the planet, you're helping it. As a Treepoints member you have access to a dashboard where you can see your total Treepoints and spend them on rewards from our eco-friendly partners (Patagonia, Grind, Farmdrop and more). Hope this answers your question.
Julia Doronina
@georgia_crump Wow, it sounds very interesting! I will try it. Congratulations on launching!
Georgia Crump
@julia_demyanchuk Amazing! If you have any other questions at all, you can drop me an email at georgia@treepoints.green
Rahul Nair
Sounds interesting. Congrats on your product launch.
Georgia Crump
@rahul_nair93 Thanks so much Rahul!!

@bullybeds Thanks!

Interesting. Hopefully more initiatives like this start appearing and through them regular people can have a bigger impact on the fight against climate change. I think one important aspect in this field is to show the users/world that their donations palpably help, by giving regular updates on how many trees have been planted and their current status. That way it reminds and encourages the people that their money can actually make a difference.
Anthony Collias
@xgrv I think that's totally correct and something we're going to focus on a lot as we develop the product. People's favourite features are mostly focused on ways that help them understand how their contributions are making impact - so the simple stuff like graphs and a monthly email! In future, we will create more content where we can tangibly show the impact through video too - whilst trying to avoid excessive emissions in the process!
Georgia Crump
@xgrv @anthony_nicholas just wanted to add to this that as a member you have access to a personal dashboard where you can see your total impact to date on how many trees planted, plastic collected and carbon offset. And then we share regular updates from our project sites via an email newsletter and on our blog 😊
