Codex working across 5 worktrees? Treebar shows you where it is, what’s changing, and how many agents are working, all from your MacBook notch. Treebar watches Git and Codex, to see where and what it's working on. Made this months ago because I kept losing track of where Codex was working. Finally decided to ship it. I’m also open sourcing the core soon.
Hey 👋
I built Treebar a few months ago because I kept losing track of where Codex was actually working.
Once you have agents running across multiple worktrees, it gets surprisingly difficult to know what’s changing, where it’s changing, and how many agents are actually doing something.
So I put it in the MacBook notch 😊
Treebar shows your active worktrees, live diffs, whether Codex is exploring or writing, and how many subagents are working, all without having to keep jumping between windows.
I originally built it just for myself and ended up using it every day, so I finally decided to ship it.
I’m also planning to open source the core soon.
Would genuinely love to know what you think, especially if you use Codex/worktrees heavily. And if there’s something you think Treebar should show that it doesn’t yet, tell me 👇

The thing I'd want out of the notch isn't where each agent is, it's which one is stuck. An agent that's been thinking for twenty minutes and one that's been thinking for twenty seconds look identical in every tool I've used, and the stuck one is the only one I actually need to touch. Second thing, if two worktrees are editing the same file I'd much rather hear it from the menu bar than at merge. Open sourcing the core is the right call, this is exactly the kind of tool people want to bend to their own setup.
