the story behind the name is that I wanted to make an app for this that was so easy to use my mom could use it!
We welcome your thoughts and feedback!
There was no real revenue but I felt the idea was validated at that point, and I was unsure how much I could grow the business to something sustainable.
He gave one piece of advice that I never forgot:
"If you REALLY believe TranslateMom is your baby, then keep working on it to make it grow. Otherwise move on!"
In the end I decided it was my baby:
I focused on a niche of translating viral videos on X and built the translator bot to over 100k followers with @TranslateMom
I learned about SEO, virality, and all the other business stuff I never even thought about before
I kept listening to customer feedback and adding features, pushing over 5000 commits.
Eventually things started clicking. People started to give great reviews for us. We started to get 10k page visitors daily.
It hasn't been an explosive, parabolic growth, but I'm happy to say that TranslateMom made over $50k this year and has almost 80k total signups, and counting, and today we launch on ProductHunt!
your support would mean a lot to us, so please vote ππ
