Hello Hunters! 👋 I am Nicolas, maker of transfiler.io. Really excited to be launching something for the first time here. Transferfile.io is a free app with no registration needed, that allows you to quickly upload files to the IPFS network giving you a download link in return. There are tons of filesharing services out there but these are some reasons you should try this one out. 🔒 Client Side encryption: Your files will be encrypted on your browser, so nothing will leave your machine unprotected. 🌎 Decentralized: Files are hosted in the IPFS network 🆓 Free: No tokens needed, no wallet, no credit car. Nada. 🙈 Private: No Google Analytics peeking at your activity. The app just use plausible which is a privacy-conscious alternative just to measure site usage. 💪 Reliable: Even if the site goes down in the future, keeping the hash is enough to retrieve your files directly from the IPFS if needed

I asked my friend to transfer large file like about 8 file each of about 1 gb but for some reason the website crashed

@aghori_x Since the encryption happens client side, your computer (or your friend's computer) need to be able to handle encryption for those files. I would suggest you or your friend to try to upload one by one instead of trying to do the 8 on the same upload.

I like it a lot. Simplicity! One thing I'd love to be able to do is create a link and description of what the user should upload. Then send this link to the client and they'll see the description of what I'm asking them to upload and they can go ahead and do that. Something like this would really help with our non-profit casework.

@robmcd85 Thanks for the honest feedback! Will look into this. I want to keep the app simple and avoid dependency on a database / centralized server due to the decentralized nature of the filesharing service. Maybe hosting the description on IPFS is an option but i am just thinking out loud here. Will definitively look into this and reach out to you if implemented

Just tested it, works great. Good work!

@nikolacvetkovic Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to test the app 🎉

Nice project! One issue: When uploading a file when you come from producthunt, the generated link looks like this: https://www.transferfile.io/?ref...... and doesn't work. It works as soon as the ?ref=producthunt is removed from the URL. Other than that it seems to work great so far!

@anthemaker Oh, you are right! Just pushed a fix, shouldn't happen anymore. Thanks for checking out the app and sorry for that 😅

API please!
Nicolas Ferro
@niyogi I got something ready in those terms but i want to finish a feature before launching. Will keep you posted 🎉

Can uploaders delete files or expire them? I don't see a way to do that.
