Transcrisper is a powerful AI transcription tool that runs entirely in your browser. It features automatic speaker identification, handles multi-hour recordings seamlessly, and skips silent gaps. Because everything is processed locally, your files never leave your computer - guaranteeing 100% privacy with zero cloud uploads. Export your finished work as standard documents or perfectly timed subtitle files.

Hi Product Hunt! π I'm so excited to share Transcrisper with you today.
I built this tool because I wanted a fast, reliable way to transcribe and identify speakers in audio without paying per minute or worrying about uploading sensitive recordings to the cloud. That stuck with me, so I decided to build a solution that brings the power of AI transcription directly to your local machine.
Because Transcrisper runs entirely inside your web browser, it is completely free, 100% private, and requires no sign-ups. Your files literally never leave your device. Here is what it can do:
Multiple Languages
Supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese
Smart Processing
Automatically identifies different speakers and skips over silent gaps to keep the transcript clean.
Heavy Duty
It handles multiple audio and video formats. It also handles long recordings.
Export Options
Search, edit, and export your work to standard formats (PDF, DOCX) or subtitle files (SRT, VTT, SUB).
Offline Support
Once the initial setup is done, you can use it without an internet connection.
A quick heads-up on how it works
Because it runs entirely on your own hardware, your first visit requires a one-time download of the neural engine (about 2GB). It also works best on a desktop or laptop with a decent amount of memory (it also runs on phones with enough RAM, but much slower). Finally, to save your local storage space, the app only saves the text in your history - to listen back to an old transcript, you just re-select the original file from your device.
It is still a work in progress, but it has been incredibly useful for my own workflow. I would absolutely love to hear your feedback, thoughts, or any feature requests you might have!
