@riaface Yeh! It's pretty awesome. I'm using it with a bunch of friends, mostly to send embarrassing pictures of each other :P

So what makes this different to shared photo streams on iphone?

@danielkempe Probably a question for @sokratis, but I think having Android compatibility is a huge bonus. I'd be interested to know if there's a version for Windows Phone in the pipeline.

@riaface Very good point!

@danielkempe Android support seems to be it. Also not requiring a mobile phone via email. My family went on a cruise last month and we all had iPhones so we did the streaming thing, but couldn't get photos from our parents' SLR.

@danielkempe they key difference (as @riaface mentioned) is that we're available on iOS, Android and your browser. We also feel that we provide an easier way for a conversation to take place around your photos, videos and general updates. @riaface we don't have any concrete plans for a Windows phone app right now, but we'd love to have one soon!

@sokratis really intriguing. a few quick q's 1) i know people have tried family social networks before - why will this one work? 2) how are you focusing on getting families on board? 3) how will you monetize?

Hi @eriktorenberg. Great questions - please see answers below: 1) Timing: we're creating more personal, digital content than we've ever done in the past. Now is also the best time for all generations in your family to have access to a connected device. The landscape around device adoption and usage has changed dramatically in the last couple of years. Product: we work hard to make Togethera a lot simpler than anything that's been offered before, which makes it usable by both grandparents and kids. 2) We were featured by Apple under 'Best new apps' in 6 countries and under Lifestyle in the US, so product quality is our primary focus right now. We also believe that word of mouth has strong potential for a product like ours and we want to facilitate it a lot more than we currently do. In the future we may consider distribution partnerships. 3) We haven't settled on monetization, but it will be a combination of subscription and transactional revenue. We're doing customer development on a few different ideas right now and will be able to share more details soon.

Love this idea, going to get my family to signup, currently we just have a whatsapp chat where we exchange pictures.
