πŸ‘‹ Hi everyone! I wanted to make something useful that all my friend and family could use. It's not easy coming up with and building such an idea but I think this might be it. I named it Tinyfollow, a smarter way to stay connected, one following at a time. Tinyfollow lets you control how you follow each individual. Currently, it only lets you follow people on Twitter but more integrations are their way and I think you'll still find it useful. Even if you've never used Twitter before, you can follow public figures like Elon Musk and Tinyfollow will help you stay up to date. Try it out and if have any suggestions, let me know in the comments. Thanks! Charles
This is probably the best way to follow tweets, without visiting Twitter.
Maybe this should have been the tagline πŸ˜‚ "The best way to follow tweets, with or without Twitter"
@charleshancom yeah, feel free to use it. πŸ˜„
@charleshancom could u make an embedable tinnyfollow widget/iframe of my account. I think it's good idea.
That's a possibility. What's your Twitter handle?
Hey Charles, this is a great idea! Question: will I receive an email for each person I follow or 1 email with a summary? The former is not inviting (I don't want more emails), the latter is the killer feature IMHO.
Thanks @mnlfrgr! You're the second person that asked me this today (Tweet link). Currently, it is the former but I'm planning to add customizable lists (kind of like YouTube playlists).
@charleshancom cool, looking forward to that!
I've been using this for weeks now. My HN FOMO is now cured β€” I no longer miss out on articles that were briefly trending while I was asleep.
This is one of my use cases too 😎
I like the concept and will give it a try. I kind of hate to see anyone waste their precious time building something on Twitter, but this is certainly useful.
The biggest challenge was building the distributed task queue that was customizable from the users. Twitter stuff was easy πŸ˜‰ Now, adding support for other sources of data (RSS, Reddit, Hacker News, Instagram, maybe Facebook) should be pretty straightforward.
