Hi all! Snappr went through YC earlier this year and we thought it would be great if there was a comprehensive, up-to-date public dataset of YC companies... so we made one! You can discover new YC products, find out more about the companies behind them, and see who's doing well on certain metrics. You might even spot a product you use all the time that you never knew came out of YC (that happened to us constantly while building it). We hope you like it :) Would love to get your suggestions and feature requests for the next version, either on here or via this:

@mdschiller This is really great. Thanks for building it!
@mdschiller what is your tech stack?
@mdschiller Thank you guys! Hopefully, this data helps other entrepreneurs make their startups successful ๐Ÿš€
@nzieber @mihalkor Thanks guys! And I hope so Mike! Y Combinator applications for the next batch close on Tuesday by the way: @joshdance thanks for asking - I answered on your other post below :)
@mdschiller Wow! this is great. Thanks for building it. Our company 'JustRide' went through YC S16, but the brand is now called 'Drivezy'. How do we report the update? Also, the status should be 'Live' :)
This is fun to browse and love how you've extracted different views of YC companies, such as: ๐Ÿ˜ป Most popular (by Twitter followers): 9gag is killing it with 12.5M+ ๐Ÿ’ฐ Most funded: Airbnb has raised $4.4B (wow) ๐Ÿ“ˆ Most visited (based on Alexa data): Reddit (of course) ๐Ÿ”ผ Most upvoted on PH: Ironically, Product Hunt is What other filters have you considered adding, @mdschiller?

@mdschiller @rrhoover Product Hunt graduated from YC? :o Had no idea.
@rrhoover Thanks Ryan! Other ones we considered but didn't make the cut for the initial version: - number of employees - news articles - Facebook likes - a proxy measure of growth Also considered doing some breakdown on tech stacks. Any ideas?
@rrhoover @mdschiller That's a great set of filters.. Especially the tech stacks. Love to see them in future :)
@rrhoover @ashwinkumar_k For now, you can look up most YC companies on which was launched on PH in 2014:
@rrhoover @mdschiller Would also love to see filters like: - by ๐Ÿ—บ country/location - by ๐Ÿฆ industry Awesome resource! Thanks for building it. ๐Ÿ™‚
It would be great to also add industry tags (if possible ofc)
@fan_andy Good idea, thanks Andy, I'll add it to the list for the next version :)

No better alternative.

Fantastic variety of information. Interesting to compare start ups, see YC alumni on a page, track success of YC start ups.

Next level could be to select multiples of your own ranking criteria/weightings and see the rankings change.

What did you build the site with? Is it custom?
@joshdance Hi Josh, the YCDB site is outside of our core Snappr app/stack - its built on Webflow (with the use of their DB/CMS). By the way, Webflow is also a YC company and you can read about them on YCDB!
@joshdance @mdschiller Woohoo, awesome to see another Webflow CMS product launch! ๐Ÿ˜
@joshdance @mdschiller awesome tool, love webflow! We've used it on several sites. Curious, it looks like you have multiple layers to your data model as well as many attribures per CMS object. The last I checked, webflow has limits on # of objects and attributes. Did that present any challenges?
