Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹πŸ½ My name is Shriya and I'm launching applications for The Violet Society today. We're a 12-week part-time program for aspiring female founders. πŸ’ͺ🏽 I first had this idea 5 years ago when I was an undergrad at Tufts. All around me, I saw male peers starting startups together, while female peers wanted to wait until they had more experience. I wanted to connect young women across universities who had complementary skill sets to show them that we all could do it, too. After finishing school, moving to the Bay Area, and working at a series of small startups in many different roles, I've seen that there's still a need for a community of close-knit ambitious women who are looking to build the next big thing. I'm excited to re-launch the *new* version of the program: * 8-12 women who have 1-7 years of experience in tech * 12 week program plus a kickoff and wrap party * We'll meet every Wednesday evening for a mastermind, unconference sessions, and hangout Join me in creating a transformational community of leaders ✨ If you want to meet in-person to learn more about the program & meet other applicants, come to our Happy Hour next Wednesday! https://www.facebook.com/events/...

Thanks for the questions, @abadesi! πŸ˜„ > Who will benefit? The program is made for people who are in the tech industry but want to start building the skills and relationships they need to start a startup. It's kind of a pre-stage phase, if you will πŸ˜‹ > What's the content & who delivers it? We do! 😎 I don't have all the answers -- nobody does -- so the program is very peer-driven. I have a series of exercises that have helped me a lot in the past, and I've been organizing community events for nearly 10 years, but the content of each discussion and session will be heavily influenced by what the members want to bring to the table. This is part of the reason for applications! We're really selecting for honesty, empathy, and compassion.
