I absolutely love this book and recommend it to anyone working on their own startup. Founders offering advice include all the greats - Elon Musk, Reid Hoffman, Ben Horowitz, Tony Hsieh, Caterina Fake, Steve Cass etc
@daniellenewnham Why do you love it?
@thetylerhayes Because there's nothing so succinct on/for startups - you have a wealth of truly great information from the likes of Elon Musk, Chris Dixon, Ben Horowitz, Tony Hsieh, Caterina Fake, and it's all beautifully laid out which makes it a book you want to keep on your bookshelf and revisit. Each interviewee, such as Musk, is introduced, then their backstory given in their own words, followed by their advice broken down under super clear headings. The final part on each is their vision for the future. I have always been a huge fan of books like Founders at Work because I love hearing founders' backstories in their own words (hence I adopted same style for Mad Men of Mobile), but this gives you all of that in clear, easy-to-digest, chunks. It's definitely a book to keep and revisit. Snippet from the foreword by Reid Hoffman, "I frequently describe entrepreneurship as jumping off a cliff and assembling an airplane on the way down. This book is about airplane assembly, weather patterns, and flying intelligently." (Andreessen's review of the book, "Kidder's Startup Playbook is a one-inch punch of the startup experience - a raw insider's guide to the real playbooks behind some of tech's greatest successes and comebacks. It's an urgent and prescient read.")
Just wish that they could have shared a sample chapter or section, and an outline (TOC) of what to expect in the book. At the same time, the contributors' names are good enough for me to buy it! :)
@vingar Hey Vinish - check the book out on Amazon as there is an excerpt there which you may like
