The new search experience, which offers conversational chat, creative generation, and citation-embedded search summaries, aims to expand Bing's 9% search engine market share.
The technology behind the launch is an enhanced version of OpenAI's ChatGPT model named Microsoft Prometheus. The AI will be able to interpret questions in natural language and generate personalized responses based on live search data. Microsoft is also embedding Bing into its Edge browser, allowing you extract highlights from the pages you're browsing or instantly generate text like a influential LinkedIn post 👀
The company worked with OpenAI in line with their AI principles to implement safeguards to defend against generating harmful content
You can sign up for the waitlist at bing.com/new. Microsoft plans to gradually scale the preview and offer a mobile experience over the coming weeks.
