If there’s one universal experience, it’s our shared need for nutritious food that fortifies our immune system, protects against health problems, and enables us to live long, healthy lives.   However, another universal experience is lacking the willpower to consistently cook well-balanced meals at home, causing many people to resort to the easiest alternative: eating takeout.   👋🏾 Hey Product Hunt, I’m Kelly Kwawu, founder of The Meal Prep Jar - a habit-forming platform that motivates individuals to become the best version of themselves by developing sustainable eating habits.   ⚕️Developing sustainable eating habits should be easy, affordable, enjoyable, and tailored to you and your individual needs. No service checked each of these boxes, so I set out to build one.   💡 The concept was simple - a habit-forming platform that motivates individuals to stay committed to meal planning, cooking, and eating from home, with the option to track their calories, macros, and weight. My mission is to encourage accountability away from registered dietitians and licensed physicians to streamline their responsibilities and ensure patients follow their recommended meal plans with fidelity.   🤖 To bring this idea to life, I worked closely with a team of software engineers. Then, I approached a handful of individuals for beta testing. Their feedback was incredibly insightful and constructive, which I used to finetune The Meal Prep Jar into what it is today.   🥭To get started, simply create your meal plan, which includes a copy of your groceries along with the receipt and the meals you plan to consume during the week. Then, make a monetary pledge to hold yourself accountable to follow your meal plan with fidelity. At the end of the week, The Meal Prep Jar reviews your meal plan and meal prep activities to identify how you did. If successful, you get your money back. If not, 75% is donated to an anti-hunger organization to feed food-insecure children, so your efforts still contribute to a worthy cause. @kelly_kwawu the idea is truly great! I believe that helps to reduce the amount of products in the fridge that haven't managed to wait for their golden hour to be cooked. And will definitely be a great help for shopping!
