I'm a big football fan but I'm not a fan of complicated, time-sucking fantasy football games. I love staying engaged with football games and the idea of playing alongside real-life action. So I built The Matchball as a new alternative to the long-standing fantasy format. It's so easy to play. But hard to master! Pick one team to earn you points for passing accuracy, shooting accuracy, corners, fouls and xG difference. As games are played, you earn points and if you do well, you can earn boosts! Boosts increase your score in future games, so you can rise up the league table. I would love for you to try it out! I'm having a ton of fun playing the Euros these past few weeks. (Then it's back to the European leagues in August!)

A simplified fantasy football game is an interesting concept! I'm curious how you balance simplicity with depth of gameplay to keep users engaged long-term? Also, are there plans to expand to other sports or leagues beyond football? Congrats on the launch, Dan!

@kyrylosilin Thanks for checking it out! I worked hard to find a good balance between difficulty and engagement. Playing single games are really fun especially compared to the seconds required to actually play. There are weekly leagues with prizes, which keep people playing. As it's early days, I'm sure I'll find some more ways to keep people playing but for now the response has been really really positive. I'll be adding more leagues when the European leagues start up in August! No plans for other sports at the moment because the game dynamics would be a bit different. Though I've already looked into a Formula 1 data provider 👀

Dan built a great and fun fantasy football game. It's the perfect balance between difficulty, skills and fun. It's really quick to register your prediction for a game and the 5 stats you have to bet on are spot on. Boosts make it also really fun and engaging. If you're a soccer fan, you have to try it!
