I built this because trailer-related accidents are a real global problem. In the US alone, more than 50,000 incidents every year are caused by hitch failures or improper locking. Many of these accidents could be prevented simply by using safer, better-engineered systems. That’s why I created the GMC Smart Hitch Coupling (Type 3000 – B50-X). It has a double-locking safety system, a zero-friction mechanism, no metal wear, and requires no maintenance. It successfully passed 2,000,000-cycle endurance tests and is fully certified under UNECE R55. Germany has officially recognized the approval with no additional administrative steps. My goal was simple: Prevent trailer detachment accidents before they happen — and build a hitch that protects lives.
