I knew I had to read this as soon as it came out cause of my deep deep reverence for this show in general and Jon Stewart in particular and it did not disappoint. Gave us amazing insights about how this show was built, the incredible role Jon Stewart played in the evolution of this show and the brilliant cast and crew that made the show what it was. Having been a fan of this show for nearly 7 years now, it was amazing to read about the singular and outstanding pieces and how they came out. Made me go back and re-watch them, eg. the choir song by Jon Stewart about bullshit mountain! Epic! Was already a fan of Jon Stewart, this book made me respect him immensely for two reasons: the praise and reverence his employees have for him and the first responders cause he took up after the show.
Living in Hell's kitchen, I sincerely believe this neighborhood should be renamed the Jon Stewart district, with the show's alumni spread out in this district and all carving out their own shows: Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver & of course The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. The cultural impact of this show on our generation cannot be overstated.
