I've not dived into the VR world yet... I feel like when it is so awesome that I can't ignore it then I will have some experience with it! The angle you are using here
is that you can re-live your memories? Like with photos, but 3D correct? How hard is it to try and convey the product when we the audience are looking at a video about it? For people who haven't experienced VR first-hand, they may struggle to get their heads around exactly the kind of experience this can provide... because they are just looking at a video.
hey ben, we're focused on helping people capture and relive their best memories. you could already take (static) photos or record (2D) videos. but it feels entirely different when you watch it in 3D, and especially when you watch in a VR headset. it's an immersive experience. Once you put on the headset, you'll feel like you're really there. it's really like teleporting back in time and reliving those memories.
to be honest, we didn't know how to convey a 3D product in a 2D video. it's hard :) we're publishing some 3D videos shot on our 3D camera, so people who already have other VR headsets (like google cardboard) can watch them. here is an example:
starting december, we'll also do in-person demos in our SF Soma and NY Wall Street offices. so people who haven't experienced VR before can swing by and test drive our products in person. we'll also ship the first 200 units to our early backers in the next 2 weeks. the sooner the backers can actually use the products, the sooner they can tell their experience with our products to friends, coworkers, and family.
Hi everyone. We're running a Black Friday Deal: $1 Teleport VR Google Cardboard Headset. Hope you enjoy this deal :) →
