How about a little attribution? These links don't even list what publication you're linking out to.

@aaronlammer So people don't miss it in the comment below: If you're on desktop hover over the headline links and the sources will appear underneath, if you're on mobile tap the headline links to reveal the source. Not mobile optimized yet as this is still fairly early stage.

Hey there, creator here. Happy to answer any questions you might have. @aaronlammer, if you're on desktop hover over the headline links and the sources will appear underneath, if you're on mobile click the headlines to reveal the source. Not mobile optimized yet as this is still fairly early stage.

@danclay Hey Dan. Could you tell us how TechReporter is different than something like Techmeme?
Dan Clay

@AsadDhamani I think the main differences lie in the layout, content and audience: Layout: I find the paragraphs under Techmeme headlines to be mostly superfluous along with the additional headlines covering basically the same topic. I try to keep each story in its own group and draw out pertinent details in the sub-headlines while also linking to other sources. This makes it much easier to digest and takes less time to get through. Content: There’s definitely crossover here, but generally I steer clear of editorial content and focus on “harder” news. Also, I try to cover more of the business side of the industry than the technical side. I don’t really care about Lenovo’s newest 13” laptop unless it has a significant impact on the industry as a whole (never-before-seen technology, new product integration, etc). Audience: I like to think I’m catering to an audience that’s less tuned in to the tech industry than that of Techmeme. I work in sales at a tech company, and most of my peers have only a passing interest in the industry and wouldn’t appreciate a lot of the deeper content and perspectives that Techmeme has to offer. So, I guess you could say TechReporter is for people who are “in the industry but not of the industry”…if that makes any sense.

Definitely helpful when trying to filter through the noise. Provides a great snapshot of relevant news that's actually worthy of consumption. Awesome stuff Dan... excited to see where you take the product!

@rcaucci Thanks Rob! It may not seem like it on the surface, but finding news worthy of consumption actually takes a fair amount of work :)
