Just saw their ad on tv. The founder is 69 years old and from middle America.
Hey Hunters! My name is Pete and I’m VP of Technology here at Takl. I’ve been with Takl since pretty much the beginning and I am stoked to finally get Takl on Product Hunt and share our app with you all. Takl is a mobile app that makes it easy to find and hire local, background-checked service providers for all sorts of small jobs and chores around the home - handyman work, lawn care, cleaning, etc. All of the jobs you can order in the app are pre-priced so you know what you’re paying from the beginning, and all of our jobs can be ordered now (as in, a provider will arrive in about an hour) or scheduled for a later date and time. You’ll get up to 6 local, background-checked providers to choose from. You choose who you want, and then sit back and let them do the work while you get your time back. All payment is handled electronically through the app, no fumbling with the checkbook or worrying about cash. And with the Takl Guarantee, if you aren't satisfied, our support team is available 7 days a week to work with you and make it right. Finding people to help out with chores and little projects around the house can be hard. Meanwhile, there are loads of people out there that are willing to do the job to earn some extra money, you just haven't been introduced to them yet. Takl solves both of those problems. Takl is in full force in 17 major markets across the US and we’re now signing up service providers all across America to expand in a major way. Check us out on takl.com to see exactly where we’re at and where we’re headed. Let us know what you think! Cheers!
@peterpeltier Best of luck! Quality supply is hard to find ;-)
How does it really differ from many of the other solutions that are out there?
How it is different from Taskrabbit???
I’ve used this app for a very long time. I would say my success rate is about 80%. But when they’re bad, they’re really bad, and the company takes their side every time. This last time I had 11 windows to be cleaned in a one story house. The girl was there 3.5 hours, complaining, and did a poor job. She also left all the windows unlocked, and screens up, down or in the middle. Her way to clean the outside was to lean out from inside. Then a boy friend with a black eye shows up and they start fighting. I finally told her to leave, I had other things to do. When I explained to Takl, they wanted more pictures for a $25 credit on a $100 job. Then they paid her and did not allow me to provide a rating. Just so you know, any provider with 5 stars, and no numbers next to that, could have started that day. Yeah, they start them all at 5 stars without knowing a thing. Also, if you have a no show, you are not allowed to leave a rating or review. Lots of much better apps out there. Don’t use this.
