@matthui and I were working on a sound messaging app called Peal which let you send reaction audio soundbytes to friends over FB messenger. As time went on we found that we really wanted was to be able to send reaction audio over more platforms like iMessage, so we decided to build Swirl.
Swirl lets you send short looping reaction video clips to friends over iMessage, FB Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram. Paste a video link from nearly any video url including Youtube, Twitter, and Vine and it will let you easily crop and send. You can also add a caption to any Swirl you create. All Swirls created make a gif version available as well and can be instantly downloaded if needed in either format. We’ve been having a ton of fun with it so far.
Cool stuff. Had you considered building this as a keyboard app? There's friction to hop between apps, but I guess there is friction to install a keyboard too.

I like that you can send videos instantly. Is there a way to add some subtitles when you switch to GIF, because when I send the GIF no one knows what the person is saying. @matthui
