Swach is a robust color management tool for the modern age. It allows you to pick colors, arrange them into palettes, and get color suggestions. Swach supports MacOS, Windows, and Linux to allow a seamless experience across different work environments.

We made Swach to be a seamless cross platform experience, so you can have the same color management functionality across MacOS, Windows, and Linux. It is built fully on Ember.js and Electron and each platform is built from this single code base. Swach incorporates your standard color picker and palettes you may be used to from other apps, and also includes a contrast checker, as well as a powerful color harmonies builder. We hope to include many more features in the coming weeks, but want to build them with user feedback in mind, so we wanted to get this in your hands ASAP! Please let us know your thoughts and we hope you enjoy Swach!

@rwwagner90 Isn't this pretty much a copy of Sip? https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Robert Wagner
@craigcpaterson It does draw a lot of inspiration from Sip and other existing color palette tools, but its goal is to combine several different types of tools, and be a one stop shop, as well as work across MacOS, Windows, and Linux and not just MacOS.
Craig Paterson
@rwwagner90 Ah, that's cool. Having on Windows & Linux would be a big bonus too. Any plans for iOS/Android apps? Sip used to have an iOS app, but they discontinued it. Also, is it a closed beta of Swach?
Robert Wagner
@craigcpaterson We're considering mobile apps, but not 100% sure what functionality they would have yet. Would love to get some feedback from users and incorporate it into what they would like in a mobile app!

Love the simplicity of the design, from the logo, to the website, and most importantly the experience of the app itself. Exactly what I needed without getting in the way. Thank you for making this, and making it free @rwwagner90 ! I thought it was a only a windows app based on the main PH listings page, happy I had a hunch and still clicked on it. Hopefully not too many others were turned off by that.
Robert Wagner
@mitchfox thanks for the feedback! I didn’t realize the order of categories mattered. Does it not show up in Mac apps?
Mitchell Fox
@rwwagner90 It most certainly shows up in Mac apps! I was referring to the home page, the only category/tag/label displayed on your listing within PH's home page was Windows, so perhaps the order does matter in terms of which category displays on the home page 🤔.
Robert Wagner
@mitchfox Gotcha. Just removed Windows for now. Will see if that makes any difference.

This is a really useful project, especially now for my workflow that leverages modern tools like tailwind.
Robert Wagner
@donald_wasserman We used tailwind in the development of Swach as well! We're big fans.

DAMN! This seems to combine all my favorite color tools into one app! And it looks amazing!!! 🤩 I’ll try it out and report 😁
Robert Wagner
@anna_0x Awesome! Definitely let us know what you think and please share with your friends and colleagues!

First piece of feedback that I'd give is...it took me far too long to find the secondary (right click menu) on the palettes view. I'd love to see those options more available on the palette detail view.

Hello, What a great and useful project. But I think it would be much more convenient if we could keep it opened (as a floating window), so we don't need to click on the taskbar icon to open it each time we need to copy a color. Also, I find the transition animation (when we click on 'check contrast') to be a bit too slow. It could be at least twice faster.
Robert Wagner
@mike_supa Could you elaborate on this? We could keep it open all the time, but it would have to still be attached to the menubar. There are keyboard shortcuts to get to the color picker https://swach.io/docs/shortcuts/ perhaps that would help?
Bora
No download available for your platform.
Robert Wagner
@boraoztunc What platform? You may have tried to download during a release, which sometimes has some issues.
Bora
@rwwagner90 macOS and you're right it was during a release, I don't know if that was you but we handled through Twitter and since then I'm a happy user. Also featured Swach on resources hub: https://resources.remotejobs.center
