Why we built SubmergeIf you’ve ever driven to the coast, suited up, jumped in… and immediately thought “yeah, this was a mistake”, you already know the problem. Most divers and snorkellers don’t struggle because data doesn’t exist. They struggle because it’s scattered, technical, and hard to translate into a simple decision: Is today worth going? Submerge started as an attempt to remove that guesswork. We took real diver reports, environmental data, and local context and focused on one thing only: helping people make better go/no-go decisions without needing to be a marine weather expert. The approach evolved a lot during the build. Early versions tried to predict everything. What we learned quickly is that clarity beats complexity. So we stripped it back, focused on guidance over raw numbers, and designed the product around confidence and uncertainty rather than false precision. Still early, still learning, and very open to feedback from divers, snorkellers, and anyone who’s ever called a dive too late. Would love to hear: -What do you check before deciding to dive? -What’s the most frustrating part of planning
