As a home cook who also shares food online, at some point it became difficult to find ingredient pairings that are used everyday. Cookbooks helped, but as a UX engineer I wanted something interactive - click around, compare, explore.
A lot of pairing wisdom is either lab-style (e.g. aroma compounds) or chef intuition. The first, however super nice, can feel disconnected from everyday cooking; the second is subjective. In practice, what “goes together” also depends on region, tradition, and context.
So I went the boring route: millions of real recipes from the public web, and stats—how often ingredients show up together, popular dishes, cuisines, and pairings. No pretending one formula explains all of food; just what shows up in the data when people actually write recipes.
Stats For Hats is still early - I’d love your feedback on what’s useful and what’s missing.

this is great! really love the clean UI, and the speed of search/overall is outstanding, no lag whatsoever. I actually just decided to start working on a v2 of my favorite pesto dish as of last night, and now I'll use Stats for Hats to help!
one tiny little suggestion - in the Composer section, for some reason I as a user instinctively thought that the search would be a comma separated string rather than search/add individually by ingredient. maybe just a quick copy change above that search bar with instruction to add one at a time could help? it's also very possible that I'm the only person that would make that mistake though, so take the suggestion with a grain of salt - and congrats on the great launch!

@erich_hixson21 Thanks Erich! Actually, comma separated ingredients would be nice and won't regress anything, so I'll add them in next release.
