My book originally made it to the top of Product Hunt after Brad Feld tweeted about it. The response has been awesome, ever since! From getting some love from Inc Magazine to all of the emails I continue to receive from people it's helped. It's really been humbling. More than anything, though, my hope is that this book can: - Help you realize that it's absolutely possible to raise startup seed capital, no matter where you live. - Allow you to think through real-world strategies for raising your seed round. - Let you learn from others that have experience at raising startup seed capital -- with profiles from 7 entrepreneurs who have successfully raised seed funding, and 7 investors who have put money into startups outside of Silicon Valley. Let me know if you have any questions!

I read this book a while back and really liked it. The basics are the same but it's broken down in a way that makes light bulbs go off all throughout in terms of how to apply it to your business.

What's the most counterintuitive thing you learned about raising financing outside of SV?

@eliotpeper Great question! For me, it's the fact that you absolutely *can* build relationships with people outside of your local area. Many people will hear the advice that people invest (at the seed stage) in their local area most. And that's probably true. But it's because they invest in who they know. And it's absolutely possible to get to know (and build a relationship) with others *outside* of your local area. Platforms like Twitter, public Slack channels, Instagram, etc give everybody the ability to build their network and build real relationships -- no matter where they're at. I'm very grateful for those relationships I've built!
