I got frustrated with stopwatch apps. They're either bloated with features I don't need, full of ads, or their widgets take up half my home screen. I just wanted something simple that does one job well. So I built StartStopWatch. Use the app to run multiple stopwatches at once. Name them, drag to reorder, swipe to delete. That's it. Or just put a 1x1 widget on your home screen, tap to start, tap to stop. No need to open the app. Put a few on your home screen for different timers.
Hey! I like the idea of a very minimal stopwatch app and the 1x1 widget concept is actually pretty neat. Being able to tap directly from the home screen without opening the app is a nice touch.
One thought - right now it feels like it’s still quite similar to other stopwatch apps. That might be an opportunity to think about what could make it stand out a bit more.
For example, people often use stopwatches for specific tasks like cooking, workouts, racing, or studying. What if the app leaned into those use cases with small tailored features or themes?
A cooking mode could give gentle reminders when time is almost up, a workout mode could include hydration or rest prompts, or a study mode could track focused sessions.
Just an idea, but I think something like that could really strengthen the value proposition and make the app feel more unique. Keep shipping, it's great to see builders putting projects out there!
