Stanza fixes grammar anywhere on your Mac using a single shortcut. Select text, press Cmd + Shift + G, and it replaces the corrected version instantly. No underlines. No popups. No copy-paste. Run it offline with Local AI (Auto Setup), use your own API key (BYOK), or use Stanza Cloud with zero setup. Built for people who want clean writing without breaking their flow.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Sabeen, founder of Stanza.
I built Stanza because existing grammar tools kept interrupting my writing with underlines, popups, and constant suggestions. Fixing text using ChatGPT or similar tools also meant copy, paste, prompt, and paste back. It broke my flow every time.
So I built Stanza to make grammar fixing fast and invisible.
Select any text, press Cmd + Shift + G, and Stanza replaces it with corrected text instantly.
No overlays. No distractions. No switching apps.
Stanza also gives you flexibility in how it runs:
• Local AI mode works completely offline with a one click Auto Setup
• BYOK support lets you use your own OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude API keys
• Stanza Cloud works instantly with no setup
You can also choose tones like Professional, Friendly, Academic, and more.
🎁 To celebrate the launch, I am giving Stanza Cloud and Stanza Lifetime free to early supporters.
Comment Stanza and tell me which mode you prefer. Local, BYOK, or Cloud. I will DM coupons to the first 50 people.
I would love your feedback.
Where do you think Stanza would help you most. Email, Slack, docs, or somewhere else?
I’ve been using Stanza for a bit now, and I really like how simple it is. There’s no clutter or distracting popups. I just hit the shortcut, fix what I need, and continue writing.
What I appreciate most is the offline and BYOK option. I prefer having control over the model I use instead of being locked into one system. It feels straightforward, fast, and thoughtfully built for people who value a smooth writing flow.
@akarshc
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate this.
Keeping Stanza simple and distraction free was a core goal. Glad to hear the Local AI and BYOK options are useful for you. Feedback like this means a lot and helps guide future improvements
I am a writer, and one of my biggest pet peeves is when the grammar tools underline everything (multi-colored too!) and suggest I rewrite everything. It breaks the flow, and if I accept those suggestions, it makes my writing look like I used a cookie-cutter on it. So unoriginal - no thank you! But I also can't do without any grammar tool for the obvious reasons.
I think Stanza hits it just right. 10/10! This is all I'd ask of a grammar tool, and I am very impressed that you didn't bloat it with all those extra features no one really uses. Love that it's so simple and easy to use without complicating and adding to my work. I feel like this helps retain my style, personality, and quirks unique to my own writing while also saving me from embarrassing mistakes.
I'd highly recommend Stanza!
Thank you so much @clare_zacharias for this thoughtful feedback. It really means a lot, especially coming from someone who writes professionally.
What you described is exactly the problem I was trying to solve. I wanted Stanza to help fix mistakes without getting in the way or changing how someone naturally writes. Keeping it simple and respectful of the writer’s flow was a big priority from the beginning.
I’m really glad Stanza fits your workflow, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to share this and recommend it.
Clean, fast, and actually keeps the original tone while fixing grammar. Great work Sabeen
Thanks @athul_mohan2 for the kind words. I really appreciate you taking the time to try Stanza and share your feedback.
Also, feel free to explore the different tone options like Friendly, Professional, and Academic depending on your use case. Always happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Love the app. What I like the most is the local model support. Since local models are good for tasks like this, I truly appreciate it’s built in support. I always wanted a grammarly for mac which works offline, stanza seems perfect for this.
Thanks @abijith_vasanthakumar , that really means a lot.
Local model support was one of the main reasons I built Stanza. I wanted something that works reliably offline without depending on external services. Glad to hear it’s useful for your workflow.
If you have any suggestions or models you’d like to see supported, I’d love to hear them
