I'm excited to share SquirrelPlan, a project I've been passionately working on.
As someone deeply interested in personal finance and the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement, I wanted a tool that could provide detailed financial projections without locking my data behind a subscription or sharing it with third parties. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to build it myself.
SquirrelPlan is a 100% free, client-side, open-source wealth planning tool. You can:
Project your wealth: See how your assets and liabilities will evolve over time.
Run Monte Carlo simulations: Understand the probability of success for your financial plan.
Plan for early retirement: Calculate the capital you need to retire early.
Manage your data: Import and export your financial plan as a JSON file. Your data stays on your machine.
The app is built with vanilla JavaScript, Bootstrap 5, and Chart.js. I've also made an effort to internationalize it into 7 languages.
