SportingCP.ai started as a personal frustration. I follow Sporting CP obsessively, and every prediction site felt either opaque, overly broad, or designed more for hype than understanding. I wanted to know not just *what* the prediction was, but *why*. So... I decided to build a single-club prediction engine from scratch and go extremely deep instead of wide. I focused on one team, built the data ingestion, modeling, probability calibration, xG forecasts, and season simulations, and made the whole thing as transparent as possible so normal fans can actually see how the predictions behave over time. The project evolved a lot while building it. What started as a simple match predictor turned into a full system with backtesting, calibration diagnostics, and a live app. The biggest shift was realizing that transparency and trust matter more than “hot takes” or betting hype.
