The problem? Simple: I wanted to see exactly what gets deleted BEFORE clicking delete. Revolutionary, I know. Apparently asking for transparency in a disk cleaner is a hot take. How did my approach evolve? Started with "I'll just make a simple Swift app." Three months later I'm deep in Django/PostgreSQL building RSA-2048 cryptographic license signing because I can't do anything halfway. The scope creep was real: - Week 1: "Just scan some folders" - Week 4: "Need real-time menu bar monitoring" - Week 8: "Better add a full license server with device activation tracking" - Week 10: "Obviously I need LemonSqueezy webhook integration with HMAC-SHA256 verification" The funniest part? I built this entire cryptographic license validation system before I had a single paying customer. Classic indie dev move—over-engineer the backend, worry about users later. TL;DR: Built out of frustration with opaque Mac cleaners. Accidentally created a full-stack licensing platform in the process. Would do it again.
