First website I added: producthunt.com 😬

@joelischka Do so at your own caution. What sad life would we all live without PH!?!
Sameer Sontakey
@joelischka Exactly what I was thinking :D

I've had a pleasure of seeing the dopes @dopamine built out their awesome product suite. As a chrome extensions fanatic I'm excited to see this come to term. @15greenberg needs to get this on extensions.af

Thanks for the hunting, @danielsing3r !

Space for mobile which launched a few months ago is genius. Nice extension to the desktop. 🙌🏼

Thanks @rrhoover ! We think you're super neato too 😍😘

I've been waiting for this! Saw the iOS app launch. Rather than thinking about an Android version for myself, I was hoping for Chrome! I think I have learned how to manage my phone usage, but it's harder on desktop to not CMD+T somewhere you don't need to be. 🙈

@kunalslab I'm the same way. I use Space for Android, but my real mind-killer is reddit on the desktop. I've been using the alpha versions of Space for desktop for a couple weeks and it has really cut down on the mindless browsing.

This looks great! I've seen lots of similar apps that block sites altogether, this is a better approach for me :D. @ramsay_brown Could you share some insight into how AI helps you do this better?
Ramsay 🐻 Brown
Hey @asaddhamani ! Thanks so much man :) The AI is doing 3 things: First, it observes how often you're currently going to the site. Then, it makes some guesses about how adjusting the breathing delay will impact your browsing. Finally, it adjusts as it goes. It's goal isn't to block you from using as much as it is to try and tease apart when you're browsing *intentionally* vs. *compulsively*

EDIT: To build on Ramsay's answer: @asaddhaman Our day job is using the Dopamine API to create habits. We use the same algo's in Space, but "run them backwards" to break habits. We try to infer from your recent usage patters whether you are likely using a website deliberately, or if you're engaging in a thoughtless binge. If it looks like you're being deliberate, we do our best to get out of the way, if your probably binging, we step in to make the pause longer. The goal is the gradually get you using your favorite sites in a sustainable deliberate way. Let me know if you have any other questions! http://usedopamine.com/

@ramsay_brown Good to see AI finally being used to solve this problem! I've been using the extension for some time now, and I've definitely noticed it being non-intrusive, it gives me time to reflect on the intentional vs. compulsive aspect of it, rather than locking me out completely, which is negative reinforcement, vs positive reinforcement with Space. I'm glad I found this extension, it's doing its job very well :).

Thanks for fleshing that out @tdaltonc !

Thanks @asaddhamani ! We're happy to bring it to you 🐻

I've been using this on my phone for a while, but I've really been waiting for it on desktop. Bam. Good work!

Thanks @thekerp ! See you at the next Taco Night!

This is a great idea! I've set it loose on Reddit. Two minor nitpicks that are triggering me though - it should be "take 3 deep breaths" not "breathes". Also, is it possible to use a higher res space image? I have a large monitor and it's looking a little pixelated. There's some great legally usable ones on unsplash.com for example. Keep up the good work!
T. Dalton Combs
@jonnymiles Thanks for the nit-picks! Love those images; might start rotating them in.
