Hello hunters! Thanks @imromains for posting us.
I love Slack - I made Smooz.io to solve a pain when using the product beyond what it is intended for. While Slack totally replaces email within a team, we still have to use emails to communicate with the outside. If you're interacting with another team a lot, you'll find Smooz a very useful tool to open a channel between your two teams. Use cases include agencies (design, dev, ...) working with clients, startups working on physical products working with their suppliers and distributors, divisions in the same company that collaborate - but also startups "friends" using it as a virtual watercooler.
Basically, any time two whole teams need to discuss a lot, but where merging the teams is not feasible, using Smooz will be superior to single-channel guests.
Since launch in January, more than 200 teams have been using it all over the world! We have fablabs in Vietnam, large companies in France, startups in the US... Try it and let me know what you think
smooz are inventing a category here of "Relay Bots". very cool idea!
@mvagarant so can this be used on the slack Free plan to effectively have "single channel" restricted users via an email gateway? Usually that's only avail for paid slack accounts.
@dcsan@mvaragnat Smooz totally allows you to connect with other teams on the free plan. Regardless of how many teams you connect with, it just count as 1 integration against your limit!

Nice work @mvaragnat! This solves a major issue we've lived with since using Slack and I can't wait to tell other Slack users I know. As more and more people get on Slack, (I'm an Evangelist for my clients thats for sure) the need for this will increase tremendously. My minds already spinning with the types of integrations you could potentially leverage or create to increase collaboration. @dcsan's mention of "Relay Bots" recalled for me the recent TWIST episode with the CEO of x.ai speaking on vertical vs horizontal AI, and this type of connectivity is yet another step in that direction.
Heck, if you can do this on one platform, why not across different platforms? Unlike the SMS/MMS channels owned and guarded by telecoms, these new communication platforms all have open APIs and encourage collaboration and connectivity. I also have questions on how this impacts licensing, integrations, limits, etc., but I'm sure your head is there too. I look forward to using this and seeing additional capabilities as you build them.
P.S. Thanks for your generosity in helping fellow developers in the Slack "Slack"! I've seen you all over that place helping others while obviously building a great product yourself. Mad props! And Congrats!
@akhanukov@dcsan Thanks man. As they say, teaching is the best way to learn :-) I've tried to keep Smooz simple and focused (another way to say it's just Slack to Slack for the moment). If you have a specific need, let me know in DM :-)
