Skeleton fingers is a free audio transcription site. It supports URLs, audio files and microphone recordings. Once you upload or complete your recording you'll get a text printout in text or JSON. Transcription happens in your browser so it's 100% private.
Hey everyone,
I'm Brian, the creator of Skeleton Fingers. I made this free audio transcription site because one of my friends told me she spends ~10hrs a week transcribing audio calls for work.
Skeleton Fingers is built on top of the open-source Whisper model. All transcription happens on the browser, so it's 100% private. Check it out and let me know what you think!
If there are features you'd like me to add, let me know!
@brian_correa Very impressive as it's 100% private. 🎉Congrats! We're launching "Cascad3 - A decentralized inspiration-driven publishing platform" on Product Hunt soon. Let's collaborate! I would appreciate your support and feedback by clicking the "Notify Me" button to stay tuned and be the first to know when Cascad3 debuts on the stage.👇

Thank you!

Hi, cool product and actually very useful, I spend hours on transcribing videos for educational purposes, but is that possible to add Youtube links to transcribe them? THat will be very cool, thank you!
@jessehojjensen Hey Jesse - only audio files are supported for the URL option. Right now the app only transcribes audio to text. Let me know if you run into any issues.
The accuracy in English is very good, but there is one issue: the button is prone to accidental clicks. It is recommended to replace the "Close" button with an "X" and move it to the top-left or top-right cornet.
@yongqiang_zhou thanks for the feedback! I will make that update. Appreciate you checking it out.

Awesome idea! Definite upvote. I notice the time stamps appear in the browser but not in the .txt file. It would be dope to have an option to download in .srt format with formatted timestamps!
@mathew_call Another user mentioned SRT a few days ago. Is that a common use case for you? I'll add that to my list of improvements.

@brian_correa Yeah I mean if there was an option to download an SRT file of the text, it would make Skeleton Fingers an easier DIY method than YouTube for adding free closed captions to a video!
