Read this book in one of my writing classes during college. Fascinating look at the rise of Buddhism through the lens of a spiritual journey of a character, Siddhartha, who lived during the time of the Buddha. It's a quick read, but you can find new things every time you pick it up.
@kunalslab read this in high school. one of the books that absolutely blew my mind the first time i read it. couldn't put it down.
Beautiful story, beautifully written. When Siddharta has an aim or goal he does nothing but waiting, thinking, fasting. He accomplishes his goals like a stone dropping through water, just letting himself fall. "Words do not express thoughts very well. They always become a little different immediately they are expressed, a little distorted, a little foolish. And yet it also pleases me and seems right that what is of value and wisdom to one man seems nonsense to another." — Siddhartha Thanks for the recommendation @Naval.
