Read this book in one of my writing classes during college. Fascinating look at the rise of Buddhism through the lens of a spiritual journey of a character, Siddhartha, who lived during the time of the Buddha. It's a quick read, but you can find new things every time you pick it up.

Beautiful story, beautifully written. When Siddharta has an aim or goal he does nothing but waiting, thinking, fasting. He accomplishes his goals like a stone dropping through water, just letting himself fall. "Words do not express thoughts very well.
