Bored with your phone screen? - Then use Shelf-Life! Liven up your home page by adding little pixel-art objects on your screen. Make use of our extensive catalogue of available items, and when you're bored, turn your own objects into pixel-art with a single click.
Dude talk about creating something that I didn't know I need but want a soon as I saw this. I love designing my phone in a way that brings me joy as soon as I open it, and this definitely aligns with that.
Thanks for making this and congrats on the launch!
This looks like fun! and I think there are a ton of ways you could build on top of this, either by using palettes (like 16-bit, or sets of 64 colors) or shaders for the objects or all kinds of themed shelves.
One suggestion I would have is having the pixel resolution of the shelf the same as the objects, so there's consistency between the pixel size of the shelves and the pixel size of the objects.
@xgrv Great suggestions all around, will definitely keep them in mind! About the pixel differences, the original pixel sizes of the objects and the shelves are actually consistent, the difference happens when the users change the scale of the objects due to Apple's interpolation.

I love this!! My suggestion would be to allow editing the color and/or wood stain of the shelves...I always want everything to match so being able to have dark wood to go with the rest of my custom icons and wallpaper would be fabbb
This is so unique! This might be silly but I feel like it could really help with anxiety -- both something to do when you're feeling anxious and also something familiar (your own objects) in front of you (if you're in an unfamiliar environment).
Hey all,
I always had an affection for pixel-art and was delightfully surprised when I saw that I could create decent-to-good looking items using a procedural mechanism. And when I saw Apple introduce widgets, I immediately had the idea for a customizable widget which serves as an office, a wall, or, well, eventually a shelf.
Combining the two was almost like a gut reaction.
I'm very happy with how Shelf-Life turned out, but I'm hoping it turns out better next week than today as I aim to continuously improve. Whether you like the execution or the idea, please let me know and I'll try and make some room on the shelf for your suggestions!
Allons-y!
