I'm Melanie, the co-founder of Shaka. I built Shaka with the goal of making work happier each day for employees. Overtime, I found that the real challenge was to build a solution that employees love that also makes leaders shine for their ability to create amazing team culture within their organization.

How does it work in practice? You say it can be used within Slack, are there challenges nudging the employee to act or does the employee need to take initiative to utilize it on a daily basis?
@sara_gisslar Hi Sara - We so appreciate your question! We have learned that you can't add another item to the employee's daily to do list, we built Shaka to make it as easy to participate as possible.
In practice, a company usually rolls out about 1 feature per month. This gives the Shaka App for Slack time to message the users and tell them about the new feature, say an upcoming Shaka Nature Challenge, users are all invited to join by clicking a button right in Slack. When the challenge starts, only the users who joined that challenge receive reminders from Shaka to make submissions to earn points for the time they spent outdoors.
When the challenge wraps up, Shaka might launch another tool, like our music feature, and all users are nudged by Shaka to submit their favorite work tunes. Once a week, Shaka will highlight a song submission in the Slack channel of your company's choice.
Repeat these announcement for shoutouts and coffee chats in subsequent months and eventually there is a Shaka feature for everyone on your team!
In this way, Shaka is never bombarding employees with 100s of messages, they don't get bored of consistent repeated programs, but we are able to drive up participation over time by introducing new, fresh fun things!

Fun story regarding your comment, Shaka actually started with no integration to Slack or Teams and we quickly realized it was a must-have to be a platform that employees would ACTUALLY utilize. Our current clients were THRILLED when we launched our integrations to Slack and Teams and participation has skyrocketed. Now our product is utilized nearly 100% in Slack and Teams by users!
