I know it's beta, and the Terms of Use is probably something standard according to lawyers, but the part about submissions not being confidential and being able to be used in your marketing is a put-off. When you're doing competitive analysis, or just making sure the walls around your own fort are solid, you don't want to draw any attention to that. It looks interesting, and I wanted to give it a test drive - and I'm not sure why I clicked your Terms when I rarely click others, but I did, and that stopped me in my tracks.
Jason BrownMaker@leanvertising · Founder,
@singer You're right and that is a standard Terms document we used that is "generic" in nature to help get us off the ground for now. However, you can always use a test keyword or URL as well if you are unsure or have questions to try the service out to see if it even fits your needs. We will more than likely update the Terms in a few days as we have been upgrading our servers and coding new tools and need to adjust our Terms to reflect where the company is going, which includes keeping your data and information secure and behind our doors only. I can personally guarantee that client data and URLs are never used for our marketing or promotional efforts. Even in our case studies and tutorials I use my own personal keywords that I track and URLs from my own account. Thanks for bringing this up to me so I can rectify it!

@leanvertising not a problem, just giving you a kneejerk-reaction. I never go in thinking anything will be shown, but somehow that stood out. I generally test with a play site of mine (, but was even hesitant about that for a moment. Just wanted to give you feedback, thanks for listening.

Handy little product for marketers and for competitive intelligence. If I remember correctly KeywordTool did pretty well when hunted too.

So would this be a scaled down version of Moz?
Jason BrownMaker@leanvertising · Founder,
@will_lam As much as I like Moz, we are a different solution all together. For what we provide, it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Very odd on-boarding process IMO...asking for a CC on the 1st screen users see is going to turn a lot of people away.
